My Journey

I began cycling at the age of ten, in 2008, starting in cyclo-cross before transitioning fully to the road. Although I developed later physically than many of my peers, I closed the gap through consistency and discipline. My final year as a junior brought significant success, including overall victory in the UK National Junior Series, the Junior Tour of Ireland, and top-ten performances in UCI races that did not naturally favour smaller riders.

Podium at Junior Tour

After Juniors, I moved to France for three seasons to race and develop within one of Europe's most competitive amateur structures. Across this period, I earned UCI podiums and wins at the Belgian Elite level against development teams. My final season there was my strongest, but it ended abruptly after a high-speed crash at 70 kph resulted in my second concussion of the year. The injury led to several months of lingering symptoms, including light memory loss, and I made the decision to step away from the sport to get back to full health.

Victory celebration

In 2024, after progressing into a career in software sales and later facing a redundancy, I simultanoiously lost a family member and had another bad life event, so I chose to return to what I loved most: cycling. This was not intended as a comeback, but as a personal benchmark to see what level I could achieve from April until the end of the season. Although I had ridden casually during my time away, the level I reached only three to four months into structured training exceeded expectations. With the encouragement of my coach, Jez Hunt, I committed to seeing how far I could progress in 2025.

Cycling in action

The 2025 season proved to be a major step forward. I secured multiple victories and earned a place with Polti–Visit Malta for the end of the season. Despite focusing primarily on supporting the team's pursuit of UCI points—while not being eligible to score points myself—I still achieved notable results, including 8th overall at the Tour of Istanbul (UCI 2.1) against teams such as TotalEnergies and Lotto.
